Koh Kood is situated 84 kms southeast of the provincial capital of Trat, it is the
farthest
island from mainland . These include the main island of Koh Kood , 9 islands of Koh Mak and 12 islands of Koh Rang. It is also the eastern most island of Thailand bordering Cambodia . With an area of

sq. kms Koh Kood is the second largest island of the Koh Chang Marine National Park and fourth largest in Thailand , after Koh Samui. It is supported by essential infrastructure, which include a hospital, schools, police station, electricity (mainly for state-run facilities) , water and telephone system. Fuel and solar energy are the main sources of electricity here.
Koh Kood has a mountainous terrain in the central region. About 70% of Koh Kood are covered by tropical rainforest. Development is scarce and mostly at coastal areas.

From Bangkok , take Highway No. 34 (Bang Na-Trat) or Motorway to Chonburi, then use Highway No. 344 (Ban Bung-Klaeng) Arriving at Klaeng, turn into Highway No. 3 and proceed to Trat. A total distance from Bangkok to Trat is 318 kilometres. |

Both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses depart from Bangkok 's Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) to Trat every hour from 6 a.m. to midnight . It takes 5 hours for the journey. The fare is 169 baht for air-conditioned bus, 221 baht for 32-seat VIP bus.
